Daphne Bursell

Having seen her children through university and on their career paths, Daphne decided to jump ship', leave her career as a teacher, and follow a long-held dream - she embarked on a City & Guilds Course in Textile Design and Embroidery.
After completing her course, Daphne worked for a company producing hand-dyed knitting yarns. Working in a world of vibrant colour was inspirational. Though more of a stitcher than a knitter, this led Daphne to experiment with hand-knitted felt. It proved a beautiful pliable medium to work with and a suitable soft base for stitch and embroidery.
Daphne works from home in the tranquillity of the mid-Wales countryside. Rooted in a deep love of rich colour and stitch, her bags have developed a unique and sumptuous style. Each one is individually designed and hand-made using the finest materials and mouth-watering colours. Neat, distinctive and well proportioned, each one fastens with a magnetic clasp. Attention to detail and quality guaranteed.
Daphne's bags will compliment a specific outfit or provide a gorgeous and distinctive accessory for a special event. Alternatively, an unusual gift or a fabulous 'fun buy'. She also makes felted woollen brooches, which can be pinned on hats, bags and coats. A more delicate corsage compliments an evening dress, a wedding outfit or used as a hair accessory. A new range of textile jewellery is in development.
